INFORMATION FOR CURRENT PARENTS
Below you will be able to find lots of information and general updates about Moorland Childhood Centre. This includes copies of current menu's, the current route map, term dates and much more
ROUTE MAP
The route map is a framework of activities that the children will be undertaking throughout each half term. It is designed to be flexible to accomodate children's own interests and we always welcome ideas and contributions from parents. The route map includes links to many areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage areas of learning and development and incorporates such factors as seasonality, the local area and significant dates or events. If you have any questions about the route map please speak to Val or Sheryl
LUNCH MENU'S
During term-time, menu's can be downloaded from this website
PARKING AT DROP-OFF AND COLLECTION TIMES
We ask all parents parking outside and around the nursery to do so considerately, and especially so that they are not obstructing the main nursery gates or other private driveways, and also not obscuring the view of cars attempting to pull out of Heather Park. Parking can become congested at peak times, and we would ask all parents to ensure they allow sufficient time to park and, if necessary walk a short distance before arriving for drop-off or collection.
COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS
All of our staff appreciate that many parents would like updates on their child's daily activities and progress. While we are happy to answer any brief questions that you may have when dropping-off or collecting children, we regret that staff cannot engage in lengthy discussions about individual children at these times. If you have specific issues or questions about your child then you can arrange a short meeting, and we also hold regular parents evenings throughout the year to give opportunities for more detailed feedback.
ACTIVE FUN
Please remember that Active Fun sessions now take place on a Tuesday afternoon. If you would like your child to take part in Active Fun, please ensure that they have suitable footwear and clothing for outdoor physical activity. Footwear should be trainers or a pair of other similarly suitable shoes for running around in. These may be worn to Moorland, or brought in a bag and left on the peg. Wellingtons, sandals, croc's or ballet shoes are not generally suitable and may lead to injury, so children who only have these types of footwear may not be able to take part in Active Fun sessions.
COLD AND WET WEATHER CLOTHING
Please ensure your child has suitable clothing and footwear to wear outside within the nursery. Coats, scarves etc can be hung on your child's peg and wellingtons stored on the shoe racks. Outdoor play and activity is an important part of the Moorland day, and we aim for children to go outside in most weather so please ensure they come prepared.
HOT WEATHER PROVISIONS
During the summer months please consider sun safety and protection for your child. We would encourage every child to have a sun hat, and to come to nursery having had a suitable all-day sun cream applied. Children may also need access to lightweight, long sleeved tops and trousers/skirt to offer extra protection.
