Nursery Meals Each day at the nursery we offer a freshly prepared 2-course lunch, which all of the children and staff eat together. "High Tea" is also served at 4.30pm for any children staying after the 4pm session ends. Meals are served in the Garden Room, affording a pleasant view out into the Moorland garden. Our menu's are designed to offer tasty and nutritional meals making the best of locally-sourced organic seasonal produce, cooked by our staff in the nursery kitchen. Special dietary requirements can be accomodated by prior arrangement. You can see the current nursery menu's for this month, including morning and afternoon snack options, as well as the daily cooking projects in which the children are involved, by clicking here To develop independence and social skills, children staying for lunch are involved, where appropriate, in preparing and cooking meals, preparing the table with drinks and cutlery, and in clearing away plates and dishes after the meal. As well as the main lunch meal, the kitchen is also used for other cooking and baking projects such as making jams and chutneys with the fruit and vegetables from the nursery garden. Children are also offered a healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack which again is prepared in our kitchen. Wherever possible we aim to use organic ingredients in all of our food preparation. In addition to the home grown fruit and vegetables from our own garden, much of the fresh produce comes from local organic farms. |
